The Beehive Travel Safety Bag
Making travelling with bees that little bit safer.

Are you a small-scale beekeeper who occasionally transports a box of bees in a confined vehicle? Or perhaps you’re a partner or friend of one, looking for that perfect practical gift.

Whether you’re picking up a nuc, collecting a swarm, or travelling with bees and other passengers, the Jem’s Bees® Beehive Travel Safety Bag makes journeys safer and less stressful. This breathable, heavy-duty mesh bag is designed to contain any bees that may escape from a hive box during transit.

Simply place your securely strapped hive box into the bag, zip it up, and secure it in your vehicle. In the event of a hive box breach due to impact or sudden braking, the mesh bag helps contain the bees, reducing the risk of them filling your vehicle.

Paramedics or other first responders are far more likely to assist without hesitation if your vehicle isn’t filled with bees.

Inspired by Jem’s own close call in a car accident (thankfully without bees in the vehicle that day) and horror stories from fellow beekeepers, the Jem’s Bees® Beehive Travel Safety Bag was born from real-world beekeeping experience. Designed with practical safety in mind, this versatile bag has many potential uses.

Perfect for:

  • Travelling with bees and a passenger who has allergies
  • Collecting a swarm
  • Moving a nuc
  • Supporting a pest controller with bee removals
  • Transporting honeybees in confined spaces
  • Recycling/Repurposing or Reusing for anything and everything!

Why is the size approximate, Jem?
Jem’s Bees® works with a supplier committed to a circular economy, focusing on waste reduction and extending material life. This bag is made from leftover fabric from other projects, so each one may vary slightly by up to 1 cm. Thank you for making a responsible purchase and supporting waste reduction efforts.

Care Recommendations:
Use one bag per box of bees.
Securely strap hive boxes before placing them in the bag and vehicle.
Wash the bag between uses to maintain good apiary hygiene.
Gently ease the bag over sharp corners to avoid snagging.

Repair and recycle.
Please mend any holes or snags and continue using this product until it’s no longer possible. When it’s time, repurpose the fabric or pass it on to someone who enjoys sewing or crafting.

The Beekeeper's Inspection Record Book

This record book is here to help like-minded beekeepers and beekeeping groups document inspection findings, learning points, and action points in an organized fashion. Be as detailed as you want, or keep things concise and to the point! The Beekeeper's Inspection Record Book is a registered design. Design number: 6239383

Please note: This edition of the Beekeeper's Inspection Record Book features a slightly thinner, shinier paper that not only works perfectly with a biro pen but is also a more sustainable option. The updated paper reduces the book’s weight, making it even easier to carry on your beekeeping rounds.
