Donations
Over the last couple of years, I’ve been approached by kind people offering both material and financial donations to support the work of Jem’s Bees®. This page is designed to guide those who:
-
Have old/spare beekeeping kit they’d like to rehome
-
Have old honey, beeswax, or propolis to donate
-
Are interested in trading or swapping items
-
Want to make a monetary donation
Got some old beekeeping kit and wondering if I’d like it for free?
Have you found old kit in a shed, during a house clearance, or from your grandparents that you’d like to rehome? Not sure what it all is?
Thank you so much for thinking of me. I do repair and restore beekeeping kit, and recycling and reuse are core values of my business, but I do need to be a bit picky. Instead of listing everything I do and don’t want along with the reasons for it, it’s best to email me at info@jembees.co.uk with a description and some photos of what you have. We can take it from there.
Found some old honey, beeswax, or propolis and wondering if I’d like it for free?
I’m not able to accept honey, but I truly cherish beeswax, no matter its age, whether it's wax cappings, old combs or clumpy old blocks. The oldest piece of beeswax I have ever been given was from 1941! It's special stuff to me.
I also love propolis and can accept it from other beekeepers as I use it in my product experiments. I often run out of my own propolis as I sell that and use it to make my soap.
As with the beekeeping kit, please email me at info@jembees.co.uk with any photos you have.
Trade or swap?
I’m open to it! Last year, someone traded several kilos of old beeswax for a couple of beeswax candles, and it worked out wonderfully. While I can’t create bespoke products as part of a swap, I’m happy to consider trading for items I already sell in my shop (excluding honey miniatures and overwintered nucs).
£ MONETARY DONATIONS
As the sole director of Jem’s Bees, I just want to firstly say that although this is a business and not a charity, I am genuinely grateful to anyone who chooses to support my work with a monetary donation.
Donations can be made directly through this page using the form below. Your contribution will help me continue my beekeeping work whilst maintaining the eco-friendly ethos of the business.
A donation is a voluntary, non-transactional gesture that I cannot incentivise or reward. However, I will let you know how your kind contribution is used. My website will send you an automated thank-you message upon donation, and I will follow up personally to share what your contribution has supported.
